Foods to Avoid during Pregnancy

Anyone ibu2 here or sape2 yang can help me on this? What foods should I avoid during this pregnancy?

Last weekend, we’re having a kenduri for my aunt who left us to perform hajj. One of my lovely cousin cooked Nasi Minyak I guess (not sure nasi apa itu..dan lupa nak tanya..). And bila kita sibuk2 nak makan tue, she ran to me and said, “This nasi is yours..special made for u since nasi nie ada nenas..”.

So, I was looking at my nasi and saw there is no nenas and terus dr selera nak makan, dah tak jadi dah.. My fav fruits is pineapple u know.. and suddenly tak boleh makan.. How frust I am sampai kecur perut tgk nasi yg ada nenas tue.. Mmmm… sedapnya, meleleh air liur..agagaga…

Then they said, pineapple is not good during pregnancy. Is it real? I heard this before and I thought it’s a traditional things yg org tua-tua selalu ckp… but, since sekarang dah moden, so I think (actually I didn’t think anything on that day) pineapple is safe for me to eat memandangkan nenas jua ada khasiatnya…

Besides that, mmm, I read that I should avoid caffeine too! Well, definitely my fav drinks is Coffee! How about decaffeinated coffee? Which I always take this one even before I’m pregnant… Is it ok?

Aha, and one more thing, I also should avoid from taken raw meat and anything that contains bacteria and viruses… Vitagen boleh tak? Vitagen kan ada bacteria baik? Bacteria baik boleh kan?kan?kan? Mmm, hot dog pun kena masak betul2… daging pun kena masak betul2… tak boleh half cooked.. dulu b4 pregnant, I enjoyed half cooked steak… so, sekarang tak bolehlah kan?

Another thing, anything containing unpasteurized milk is a no-no. Dan juga soft cheese! But cheese lain ok kan since cheese like mozzarella etc telah di pastuer kan?

Well, bonda2 out there… what do u think? Any advise?

  1. Kau jangan minum ais batu tau.. Sakit esok2 nak bersalin..
    Nenas memang pun tak boleh makan, nak pulak time awal2 camni.. Tajam bak kata Hang Tuah..
    Tapi lagi bagus kalau kau consult dengan dietry kat hospital pakar.. Make sure dengan dia ek?

  2. a good entry.. i pun nak tau!! sbb slaly confused.. tp yg i CONFIRM btol is.. jangan makan nenas & betik! betik?? dunno why.. but my indian friend ckp, jgn mkn betik.. hmmm.. nenas plak, mmg dari dulu tau sbb nenas tu buah jenis yg "tajam"!! pastu, jgn makan over pedas sgt.. n make sure u tak cirit birit!! bahye skett sbb nnt dehydrated! hmm.. apa lagi ekk? sume ni based on my readings, plus experiences member2.. hehehe.. :D

  3. orang kata nenas tak bleh, tebu tak bleh. limau2 tak bleh. i tak sure tahap selamat dia zaman moden ni, but to on the safe side, i tak makan lah.

    coffee tu dulu takmo, pastu kuar kat startbucks yang toffee nut latte, i can't resist lah. blasah jugak la de-caf. lagi pon toffee nut latte ada december je. ehehehe. =P

  4. hi amie, not sure u remember me or not (mommy dat got preknen without rubella). anyway bout food to avoid during pregnancy is nenas tu mmg betol coz org kata tajam. i pun 9 bulan telan airliur tgk nenas, tahan je lar. telur separuh masak kalo bleh dielakkan or wat eva food yg tak berapa masak (sushi, medium rare ker etc), coz the bakteria still there. yg cheese tu pun betol, n kalo nak minum carbonated drinks, sila campur ngan air kosong ek, so cam cair lar. tang kopi errr no komen psl saya main belasah...btw congrats dear....

  5. strictly amalkan sihat food. yg kt masak sendiri, terjamin kebersihannya. and absolutely NO to carbonated drinks.

  6. ada org kata pineapple muda sangat bagos untuk buang darah kotor..my aunt told me since i x pegnen2 lagi..but..but...nenas ni tajam ..sungguh x bagos actually for pregnant lady kalo rahim dia x kuat..so better kalo baru pegnen tak yah makan la..it's very2 dangerous!My sis makan banyak masa pegnen takde per coz rahim kuat..so depends..for my advise..pliz avoid..thanks...

  7. nenas takleh makan sebab tajam, betik takleh makan sebab ada enzim dalam betik tu yang tak elok utk baby, pasal coffee semua tu..seeloknya jangan la minum kan..cam i nih..benda bersusu adalah susah nak minum.,.,terus muntah..so everyday minum air orange aje..ehehe sebab cam masam masam kan..nak elak dr muntah la kononnya

  8. erk...mcm byk jer bende nak kene pantang huhuu. COffee pon tak bleh? kalau utk mcm hanie yg kepala ni kene minum nescafe satu ari..kalau tak minum, akan pening. Camne plak kekdahnye? adoi

    Also pregnant meh :) No-no to nenas, tembikai & papaya.. 2-3 kali sakit perut amat bila makan tembikai during early pregnancy.. Then my chinese frens say, cannot lorr..
    Coffee, tea & chocolate: they all contain caffeine, so akan melarutkan sume zat besi yang kite makan.. So sayang lerr, makan buah, vitamin tp khasiat die xdpt diserap dek badan pe tah lg baby.. Doc will say, take less lerr..Just a sip/a cup per day..
    Else, air batu but I am not sure why, chinese also say that. Coke?? The sugar too high, can lead to kencing manis during pregnancy.. Pedas?? As mention above. The most important, eat healthy, get enough rest & sleep.

    * I drink coffee & tea & eat chocolate but in small amount only :) Pregnancy shouldn't be a suffer time for mummy, right??
